I can't make stuff rhyme, so I just do freeverse...   Smiley  And I'm pretty bad at titles, so I won't torture you...

She waits for his coming,
Against her father’s will,
She waits for him to come home from war.

Life is leaving her,
Yet she sends him hope,
In the form of a sword,
A sword that was broken,
And was reforged again.

Her father mourns,
He sees death.

She rejoices,
She sees life.

The time comes,
She goes to him,
She goes to him in the City of Kings.

He stands crowned king,
And looks for her,
She runs to him,
They are together.

It is all that matters,
He fought a long war,
She sat dying in wait.

It is over now,
They are together,
It is all that matters.

Arwen Undomiel of Rivendell, Light of her people,
Joined in marriage with
Strider the Ranger, now Aragorn, King Elessar and Lord of the West.

That is very good. My stuff doesn't rhym(sp) either.

I have a few of my things under "Scroll's Poetry Snippets". I have more but I don't have them all typed in yet. My daughter also writes poems and she actually ryhms(sp). Hers is short and to the point. Unlike mine that is long and a short story. There is a story behind each of my poems and I have a different veriaty(sp) of them. Anything from love and lost to horror to comical to simplicity.

Yeah, I have difficulties with rhyme and rhythm when it comes to poetry.

Pretty good- I like the style. Don't worry about rhyme; freeverse can be amazing on its own. Meter is probably more important (...but then again, I shouldn't be talking, since I can't write poetry at all).

yep, Studying poetry in English has always been hard since I don't have a good grip on the meter, rhyme, rhythm, etc.  And when they ask you to write a limerick...it's just painful what I come up with.
I just kind of write what comes at the moment and go back later to change words that don't sound good together.

I know there's another free-verse I wrote about The Battle of Helm's Deep but I have to find it first.  Now if I were my crumpled-up sheet of paper, where would I be??  *wanders off*

Hope you find your poem.

I had to write a limerick last semester. It followed all the requirements, but it was the most rediculous thing ever.
