Maybe when we get a few more active members we could have a newsletter, all the other good lotr sites have one why not us.

Also, how about a Links section to other websites, i would be willing to help if possible

The thing is, this site is (and has been) only a forum. The second version, which was basically a full website with a forum, did not work out.

A newsletter doesn't sound like  a horrible idea to me, but I've always loved this forum for the way it is now. Simply the most awesome place where Lord of the Rings fans can come and discuss topics related to Lord of the Rings and topics about life without having the feel of a chat room...usually.  Roll Eyes

This board isn't going anywhere. :/

LOTR was popular three years ago. Not anymore. No one except a few hardcore fans even bother talking about LOTR. Even the people who do post regularly only talk about their RPGs or why Bush sucks.

I am on the category that talk about all the previous but you must think i love Tolkien's books but i just can't make lotr topics for just making them. When you have something to say you say it otherwisise its pointless. In addition we all have sth to say about other topics which is good because i believe we communicate better. But you have  right that most of us here(including me) have moved to other topics like debating here i find you right.

I do agree. LOTF was the main topic years ago but I feel we all have already said what needed to be said about the movies and possibly the books.

All that's left is is any of the actors from the movies are doing other things or if somewhere there is a new LOTR play being done.

Don't get me wrong, LOTR will always have a special place in my heart but to face the facts, there just isn't much more to say about it. Or at least until the "Hobbit" or another LOTR movies are made.

I do still like coming here though to say hey to my friends (old and new) and talk about other topics.

The news letter could have peoples Birthdays, Anniversaries, and anything good that is happening in a member's life. Like awards and things. As long as the member agrees to share it with Mods to put in the letter.
