It isn't even about lotr anymore...
it's about the people  that became friends because of lotr. They're still friends. They still talk to eachother, and maybe not about lotr anymore, but they still chat...
if anything there should be a newsletter about what people on this site are doing...I see that there are plenty of photographers here, why not post their artwork? And speaking of art, there are gifted people on this site and they have plenty of talent to go around...

I believe what Scroll and Cassandra have said to be true.  This site has definitely evolved to something more than simply a LOTR's site.  This is a good thing.  Fantasy worlds are awesome and fancinating things; but we should always balance them out with issues pertaining to the real world.  And as Scroll basically said, when new topics come up, pertaining to LOTR's, hard core fans like myself and many of you will be ready for them.  I can't wait for the release of Tolkien's new book - The Children of Hurin.

Ah, that's okay, Scroll. I didn't hear about LotR until a then-obsessed classmate told me, and I didn't read the books or get into it until the movies.

But yes. Ideas. Since MET is now more than a forum (the index is a normal page), more pages should be created to accomodate different things. I think this place should be expanded, even though I am already happy with the community here.

The site is extremely user-interactive, and if that was taken away, no one would be happy, so if there is a newsletter, then I recommend giving everyone a chance to contribute and help out.

But first, we need more involvement from the members. As of the present there aren't enough people online often enough.

True.  We have a good core group of members that regularly post, and could definitely have more members, period, for such a thing to work.  I would also say that there are a lot of people on the members list who rarely post, and I would encourage them to get more involved.  Even one post every couple of days wouldn't be asking that much.  That would only take a couple seconds of someone's time.

Most of the people on the members list have registered and forgotton about MET. Also, a great part of the current member list had been imported? from the old place and some of the accounts are inaccessible (at least mine was). As much as I would love a traffic increase, I don't think we should so much require posts as encourage them. Perhaps if we expanded the site a little it might attract more visitors.

Yes.  What I said was "encourage" people to post more often.  Maybe the mods could delete the accounts that are inaccessible and/or imported.  I also agree that a lot of people have probably forgotten about MET.  I think people on the Net as whole, can be quick to sign up for things.  From there they either forget about what they signed up for, or maybe were a bit too impulsive when they signed up.  I just think that those who don't post for months on end maybe should have their accounts deleted.  What do the mods think?

Yeah, if people could be drawn in (I guess that's a way of putting it...) before they totally forget about the place...
A newsletter could attract people, but of course, it could totally flop with a lack of people...

I totaly(sp) agree with Bombadil on this one. That with the lack of people it could flop.
