What has happened to the quoting feature (button located on people's posts)? It has never functioned for me since the site went back up after v2. Looking around, it seems to be working for other people, but I have tried, using various browsers and computers, and I have not been able to directly quote someone. I have been resorting to:

and highlighting/pasting text.

Is this a universal problem with the site, or is this just a difficultly only I have been encountering?

A really long time ago, I had this weird problem with my computer, where it wouldn't let me log into the website. I went through everything and it turned out I had a problem with my internet cookies (not sure how they work...). I'm not sure it's like the problem you have, but you definitely have an individual problem like I did. Since you've tried it with more than one computer, it might have to do with your internet connection. Maybe you can ask your internet's company about it. It also might have to do with how your computers are interpreting the html code of the quote link.
Don't hold me to any of that, cause I'm no computer genius. Those are just ideas. But I highly doubt it has anything to do with the website.

Andunie: I think what Diamond said might be the case.  I have had similar computer problems in the past, and sometimes it had to do with the cookies.  Another possible problem might have to do with your internet security settings.

Anybody have any other suggestions for Andunie?  Andunie are you still having these same problems?

It's still not working. At least, if I click on the quote button it takes me down to the Quick Reply area. Then a green "Loading..." bar appears at the top of the window, stays there until I leave the page, and that's as far as it gets. The browser's status bar at the bottom also shows an "Error on page," every time.



Well, if this isn't a problem anyone else is having, I am fine with quoting the way I have been for a while. I had just been wondering whether this was happening to anyone else, but, well, I suppose it isn't.

Now I understand your problem! I never used (nor use) the : "Quick reply"-feature that you can activate in your profile. However, when I activate it, I'm not able to quote either. I guess you did discover a bug. I'm not technical enough to actually solve the problem, but will bring it under Radagast's attention.

Oh! You are absolutely right. The Quick Reply doesn't have to be turned off, only not displayed. Thanks, Mithrandir!
