Why are the avatars that I can put on my profile only of actors and singers?

I dunno, but you can upload any picture you want (say, from Google) as your avatar, whatever size, and it will shrink it down to the allowed size limit for you.

What you do is you search Google images with the name of the picture you intend to find (i.e, if you want to find Steve Irwin, type his name in) then you click on the image thumbnail that you prefer, click on it again when it appears at the top of a new page so that you can see it alone in it's actual size. Right-click copy  the web address above it, then in your profile section here, paste the address in the area where it allows you to put the URLs for your own avatars. After that, scroll down and click 'save' and then check if it is working by clicking on your own profile, or when you post a new post- hope that helps!

Just follow the directions, though it would be easier if there were already avatars on the site

I think I will stick to my usual, even if it is the wrong story Smiley

After all, I am pretty sure anything else would be copyright infringement anyway  Innocent

Meh, find a picture, tweak it, resize/crop it, and upload it somewhere or other, and there you have it.

If anyone's looking for LotR avatars, www.arwen-undomiel.com has some good ones.
