Where has the main page gone?

I don't know how long this has been happening, but today I noticed that when I typed in "lordoftherings.org" I atimatically got jumped to "lordoftherings.org/forums". Could someone tell me what has become of the *main page?

I noticed that too.

Doesn't bother me though, i never go on the Knowledge Base. ONly the forums

hmm thats wierd, i don't go to the main page much i just bookmarked the forum...

The official answer is that it is being redesigned.

Radagast thought it was hindering Google's ability to spider the forums.

He will be redesigning the main page and bringing it back soon.

Yes I noticed that... perhaps it generates some revenue or something, but it makes the entire site look an awful lot like an unused domain.

It also seems like the sort of thing that would turn away potential new members.

That's more or less what I was thinking. Even a nearly blank homepage pointing to the forums might be more inviting.

When I first found it I thought I had put in the wrong URL. So I tried again and got the same thing. I'm like "WHERE HAS M.E.T. GONE??!"

And then, being the slow person that I am realized that it was a form of a main page.

Its just Radagast trying to earn some money off the site. To be honest, I think he'd earn far more if it was parked with some specialist domain monetization agency.

The Type-in-traffic must still be substantial on this domain but I'm sure the Click-Through-Rates are really low...
