Domain name was expired . . .

Anybody would know that tried to log-in to the site for the past month, that the site was down because the domain name had expired.  It scared me, because I thought that maybe this site was done, since I heard all about the time when the original site went down a few years back.     I just thought I'd click on the link on my "favorites" and wa-la the site was back.     Sweet!  Just thought I'd share this.  Let us know what YOU were thinking when you couldn't log-in to the site.

Hi Heru.  Well I'm glad that someone actually replied.  Probably letting the site go down will make it so many won't come back now.  I'm glad the site got renewed myself, I just wish their was more action on here.

I sort of agree with Heru, I'd rather have MET go already. It's great to have it around and all, but it just feels like the site's corpse is being tossed around. It's being tube-fed.

In some ways I agree.  Though I still hope for a revival.  A big part of the problem has to do with the fact that most members, many mods included, do not frequent the site at all.  What will get this place back on its feet again will be the regular members actually taking an interest in the site again.  As true LOTR's fans, there should never be enough stuff to talk about relating to the books/movies, etc.  What happened to Mithrandir, Andunie, Wolfchild, Lairënuriel, Insane_Monkey, Arwen?  Yourself and Heru included.  Don't mean to exclude anyone, 'cause there have been many great people on here.  Those are just some of the names I would connect to "making the site better," and some of the people that come to mind.  I hate to say it but if this place goes, a big part of the blame goes to the members.  Though I could understand interest having wanned since the craze surrounding the films has worn off as well.

Honestly, I'll have to agree with Beren. The site's not been seeing much life, but still. Nostalgia kicked in. 'twas surprising how much I missed this place while it was down.

Hi Mithrandir.  You're in our thoughts.  Life is busy, and my time has also wanned on the computer as well.  You must find time to read The Children of Hurin, then we'd have something to talk about.     I'm trying to do what I can to keep this place alive.  Hope to see you on here more often.

Gosh. Hello dears. Well, it took a whim to come back here, and I'm very thankful I did! I had left thinking the place had gone to meet it's maker, and the site expiring sort of confirmed that for me at the time. I'm sorry I left in the first place, but it really was a ghost town. I stayed for the Golden Hall, but when you stopped updating Beren, I thought that was the end. As much as my schedule is a bag full of madness, I do want to get back to writing again, so hopefully this makes my return all the more official

I had computer problems that prevented me being on here and then the domain expired. Then I had PC problems again. But I never forgot about the site.  I, like Beren, hope the site is revived somehow. It is the only place I go where people actually post even if it is only a select few.
