I'm excited about this one....the books are pretty fluffy fantasy, but always fun and entertaining.

My friend is a huge Dragonlance fan and she was so excited when she found out! She's let me (translation: forced me) to read the Dragonlane Chronicles in the past. They were very well written, but I must say, there were just too many "coincidental" similarities between it and LotR for my taste.

Dragonlance...I've never heard of that.  I did recently hear of a movie with dragons or something in it that had...perhaps Christian Bale in it? Could this be it?  (If it is true...regardless of what it's about, I'm watching!) Innocent

But I know I must go on
Although I hurt, I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
Children, don't stop dancing--believe blind.
Children, don't stop dancing--believe you can fly away...away.
So let's go there--let's make our escape
Let's ask can we stay?

Lex, I am not sure if this is what you were thinking of, but Christian Bale was in a movie with/about dragons several years ago called Reign of Fire (but that was awhile ago).

I believe the Dragonlance film is animated as well.

And it seemed to Thingol that this Man was unlike all other mortal Men, and among the great in Arda . . .

Ooooh... Reign of Fire. One of my favorites!  Smiley

Anwaywho: I too have never heard of Dragonlance. Could you, perhaps give us a brief description Lairėnuriel?

From Wikipedia: Dragonlance is a large series of fantasy novels, with over 190 novels printed, and is accompanied by a supplemental campaign setting in the Dungeons & Dragons style.

The novels are pretty fluffy but entertaining and if you are a gaming dork (as I am) they are very fun.

On January 15, 2008, the animated movie Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight was released direct to DVD.  I haven't seen it yet, because I rented it with my kids and even though it's animated I want to watch it alone first in case it's inappropriate.
