Interesting. But not much more. Rowling leaves way too much unexplained and it's a very mediocre ending to a brilliant series.

I got a bit emotional at the part where the two stone gargoyles shatter... JK!
But really? Why is this a sad book. All my friends cried when Dobby died. I'm like what the heck?

Oh well. It was an okay read. But compared to my favorite British author; Douglas Adams, J.K. Rowling is a yawn on an amplifier.

'Nuff said.

I thought the ending chapters were pretty satisfying, but I hated the epilogue. I was just left thinking, "So uh...what now?" Not to mention that I can't stand the thought of Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione.

Yes, speaking of thje epilouge, why were the children worried about where they were going to be sorted to when there was no Sorting Hat?

I guess the sorting hat survived...somehow.  Yes, the epilogue was very vague and frustrated me to no end that they didn't give me the details that I wanted.

Who thought Mrs. Weasley's "GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!"
was the best scene ever!?!?!

(sorry about the language, but i tell it like i see it)

I loved that scene - I actually got in trouble from my husband for saying "Alright Mrs. Weasly!!!" out loud because he was waiting for me to be done so he could read it and that exclamation gave a plot detail away!!!

I enjoyed the book overall. In fact, the only one I didn't care for was book 5, where the angst was a little...overkill, really.

I do believe the ending could have been a little more detailed, as I'd like to know what became of the rest of the surviving Hogwarts students (well, the main ones). I also think that Snape's death scene was a sucker punch to the man, and he deserved something a little more...appropriate. Though I did like the way she presented his past.

Oh, I agree! Snape has always been one of my favorite characters, and considering that he ended up being good all along, it was a very sad ending for his life! Poor Snape..Sad

Yeah, the whole time I thought Snape was going to get killed fighting to protect Harry, or finally doing something valiant, but no, blasted Rowling had to kill him off before we became too affectionate of him...

Well Snape was never much of a hero that went out and did heroic things that everybody knew about, like Harry.  He was an unsung hero, and I thought that death to be  fitting.  I just didn't see him running out and doing something valiant.  Although, if he had saved Fred's life, I wouldn't be complaining.

Maybe it is naivety on my part, but I actually flip flopped though the whole series thinking Snape was actually bad or Snape was good.  I know that was the intention, but she go me - I wasn't sure until the end.  He was one of my favourites though.

Generally speaking, I thought this one was reasonably good. It was a bit different from the rest of the series, and it tied a lot of the things from previous books together. The only part I disliked was the epilogue, which seemed inclomplete and was a bit of an overkill.
