Hey everybody. I'm trying to find as much information for my coming up Science Fair, and I thought that polls always look good as a piece of information for research. So it would be an amazing amount of help if you were to take a moment to do this poll.

Thanks in advance.

* Example: While running, doing push ups, playing sports or doing any form of aerobic exercise

** Example: While doing a wordsearch, solving a math problem, or while thinking  through a situation.

I think the answer can be both/and sometimes, or either/or in other circumstances.  But it really depends on the situation and the individual.  There may be moments when you need the boost that music can provide you with.  Sometimes when I am writing or reading, music is soothing and helpful in giving me inspiration.  But there are times when I do not need it, and choose silence instead.  Music was always great for the mind and body pertaining to sports, particularily when I played basketball back in highschool.  Warming up before a game with the music playing got us a team pumped up physically and mentally.  But during the course of a game there basically is no music.  And who'd want the music pumping when their in the dying moments of an intense game anyway?

Some of my thoughts, hope this helps you a bit, Insane.

 Clap - this guy says yes to the music!

i think it varies with each person, and the kind of music they like;

ex: i was sitting in my basement playing moh multiplayer with my ipod hooked up to some speakers; and i was losing badly, till one of my songs that is rock-metal came on and for some reason i started doing better for 2 mins strait

I like absolutely All sorts of music, but if you're talking about rock music specifically, that figures quite high in my list of "things I want to hear".
I play loud, punchy stuff on my way to work to psych me up if I need to do tricky stuff that day, and I play rock ballad based stuff to calm me down so I don't bite off the heads of my family when I get home!

So I would suggest it's not a youth based thing either as i haven't lost my enjoyment of it as I've got older, and I embrace the new stuff too.

(I even play the loud, fast sort when I'm ironing 'cos it makes me iron more quickly, keeps me in a good mood & gets it over & done with quicker - now that's got to be good for you!  Cheesy ).

I also use music for every aspect of my life.
Industrial gets my housework done.
Ambient for cooking (I am a vegetarian and there is a lot of chopping, soaking and preparation).
Depends on my mood the music I use for yoga, but it is not always the traditional indian music and chanting that is used for yoga.
More still for crafts and playing with my kids!!!
