I had to call around today and try to find a gavel. I called a  couldn't help but laugh my head off when the girl asked what a gavel was. I told her it was something a judge uses to pound on his bench with. She still didn't know what it was. She had to ask someone else.

Now that is plain stupid. What do you think? Do you have anything funny that others didn't know what you were saying?

I had to explain what the word 'adhesive' meant to someone today. Thought that personally it wasn't particularly unknown word, so it suprised me a bit.

A few years back, there was a middle-school student who couldn't spell peanut and didn't know that the Great Wall of China was in Asia.

Now, I don't intend to redicule others for not knowing things, but sometimes one would have to be a bit oblivious to not know some things that are generally common knowledge.

i dated a guy who had never heard of Memorial Day...he's not Jehovah's Witness or any religion that doesn't celebrate them, he's American, and from Corvallis Oregon, his mom moved here to Lebanon, he was MY age, and he didn't know what Memorial Day was. Patti and I had to tell him, knowing that my whole ancestry fought in the WW1 and WW2...I was amazed he didn't know that...and I thought I was too stupid for my own good, but his mother was a druggie and didn't make him go to school...he drove too, wonder who taught him how!

I'm a blonde at heart so i def. have my moments of stupidity but its never anything major, its always something like not understanding a joke or saying a word wrong.

although i agree that the general population does seem to be getting dumber and dumber...i guess there just isnt the same emphasis on education as there used to be

I was watching the news this morning and they were doing a segment of how more wild animals are showing up in cities and towns. Well I say "if we would stop tearing down their homes and the forests then they would be coming out in the main stream of life". It's like let's go and add to our town or city and then they complain that the wild animals are coming into our towns and places.

I hope I explained it good enough.

English is not our main language but I need to speak it. I am in a travel agency and I feel really stupid when I am talking with foreigners sometimes. I often forget what some words called in english when talking with them.

I was reading about Sedation Dentistry, cuz I need that, and one of the sentances was: If you have IV Sedation, you must bring a companion with you"...I thought, "Well duh, no ur gonna drive home all doped up!" Geez, go figure...I'd HAVE to have at least Frodo w/ me...anyway, I thought it was funny!

Anyone ever watched the news at like 3 in the morning??  The news casters always just start randomly laughing for no apparent reason ALL the time, it is very amuzing to watch but if you are honestly looking for news stories you have to wait until they come off of their high around 7 or so.....

Wait there is news 3 o'clock in the mornings? I commend those people for even being awake at that time.

Where I go to college at they have an inner door then the outer door leading to the outside. Well at night about 9:00pm when it is dark I usually stand inside the outer door where it's more safe to wait for my hubby to pick me up. Well as I am standing there looking out the window watching for him people comes through the inner door and sees me just standing there. So when they start out the outer door they hold it open for me to come out.

Now if you came through the inner door and just seen me standing and looking out the window you would think I wasn't going out the door would you?
