Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Devine Comedy was a novel written in the 16th Century. Is that perhaps where they got their name?

Neil Hannon, the band's frontman, chose the name at eighteen whilst spotting Dante's poem on the family bookshelf. Perhaps due to it being 14,000 lines long, it is more close to a novel in retrospect.
