Sounds like the "old days" are dearly missed.  As one who was not around during those times, what happened that changed things so much?  Why did so many people leave?  Did LOTR lose its focus?  Fill me in on what happened.  Thanks  Wink

I'm not quite sure what you mean... I think the release of the films brought a large influx of people then, but now, after all this time, interest in LotR in general has tapered off. Many LotR-related topics have already been discussed in great detail before, and it seems that there isn't much left unsaid. Also, a great number of members haven't been around for a while, and traffic, on the whole, has been slower since the original site went down. There was a new one, for a while, but no one liked the format... and then we have what you see now, pretty much what was here before, only it seems there aren't so many people anymore.

That makes sense.  Thanks.  Maybe when the Hobbit movie finally comes out, and with the release of The Children of Hurin, maybe we will see this site renewed.

That is so true. I was here for a year or two on the old site before the crash. I did try the new site and didn't really like it to much so I quit coming on. I never did however delete my name and stuff. Till one day I came on just to see what was going on and low behold the old site was back. But a lot of the members had left and never came back. A few has came and more is bound to slowly show up (I hope) and you are right Beren, maybe when the Hobbit and other movies come out it should bring more discussion and members.
