Unfortunately not, since most of you are on the other side of the drink! One day though, it would be nice to get together. Maybe we could start a profile thread or something, just to get over the basics.

Unfortunately, no.  Most of us are pretty scattered around the globe so this would be difficult logistically.  I have often thought, in the back of my mind that it would be cool to organize a mass meeting sometime, somewhere.   Smiley

None that I care to mention.

And what's the other side for you?

The other side means America, whereas I am a Brit.

Logistically it would be hard to plan - Beren and I are in Canada, but the driving distance between Calgary and Toronto is 3434km!!!  I tend to forget just how big our country is!

Maybe we could start planning now for the Hobbit opening!

I think Wolfchild's idea of a profile thread is a good one.

Yeah- I mean nothing that could be weaned down to credit card fraud, but something simple, i.e age, little biographies, etc. Possibly photos too, or anything like that.

Sounds like this might be a good idea.  And yeah, Lauren is right.  When you look at a map of Canada, you really see how big it is (the US is also huge).  It takes about five hours to fly from Calgary to TO, and about three days to drive.   Smiley

Not I, either.

I love the idea of planning an actual get-together, but it'd be so difficult to coordinate, and everyone is just spread out so far (which can be good too)! I seem to vaguely remember something like this being discussed before. Just out of curiosity, has it ever worked?

Maybe that was before my time.  But it is not a bad idea.  If something like this were to work, I think the best thing to do would be to pick a sort of centralized location.  Not sure where this would be though.  For us North Americans, having the meeting on this continent would be great, but for our European friends, this would be a killer in terms of distance and paying for that hefty plane ticket.  It would be the same the other way around.  Any ideas would be great.  Maybe there is some little island in the middle of the Atlantic that we can meet on?   lol
