Arwen: If you can find a copy, I'd definately recommend reading The Princess Bride. It's so unique, and a very easy book to read and get into to. Also a lot of fun.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Macguire.
It's really good, with a lot of creativity and excellent writing and characterization.  But, dear Lord, there is a lot of sex in there!

Ooh Wicked is pretty good. I don't think it's quite what it's hyped up to be, but to be sure the writing style is quite unique and it's an awesome book.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Fantastic is about the only word to describe it.  Although I would recommend the abridged version since I do remember being told that the unabridged has a lot of useless stuff in it.   However, being the avid reader I am I plan on finished the abridged version and then tackling the unabridged.

Excellent choice, Bombo.  That is one of my favorite books as well.  Love the movie also - wow!  Dumas is a legendary author, imo.  I also loved reading The Three Muskateers, back in the day.

Currently I am reading another great classic, Moby Dick, by Herman Melville.

Somebody's got to fill me in about all the hype surrounding those books?  What's the deal with them?

Yeah. Smiley  I doubt it could compare to the Potter books, or of course our favorite LOTRs.
