I had a similar thing in The Playground, where I had written a massive bit of the story, and then dinner was ready, so whilst I was away the computer put itself on screensaver mode, and when I came back to it, the thing had decided to freeze up in a moment of sadistic glee. I had to force restart and lost everything.

At the moment I am feeling both tired and slightly moody. Partly because I have just got up, but mainly it is the fault of the VCR, which is refusing to play Star Wars videos.

That's a shame, Sienna, but I hope everything goes well. Funerals can be trying for the best of us.

At the moment, I'm quite glad that I've been able to get my sister's birthday present(s) sorted, as she is celebrating a day before because on the day itself (Thursday) my family are off to Amsterdam, though I've decided not to go with them.

Might I ask why you hate pools?  I could sure use one right now, as it is about 30 degrees and too hot inside my house.

Thx WolfChild...I met some really nice people today...some I'd not seen since i was 5... but I thought the service was beautiful, she was burried in a pink casket, and each of the kids that came said a very nice piece about her, but still, we'll miss her, and she is in a happy place now. I haven't heard from my friend who went to Spain, I'm thinking he's having fun! Yeah, I agree w/ Berren, I could use a dip in a pool! Take my Zanny shark (a big watertoy w/ handles) and go for a swim!

Wondering how it is possible to be more stumped for things to do when there is no-one in the house...they've all gone to Amsterdam today, so I feel a bit lonely.

That sucks.  I thought you were going to be going with them?  I'm guessing you were too busy with everything else to be able to take the time off.  Hopefully you have time for a holiday sometime this summer.  We all need holidays!

Not this time round, no. I just didn't want to go to Amsterdam again, as when I went two years ago I found it very confining and restricted. Although the place is beautiful, when you go from Manchester, a big expanding city, to another big city, it just doesn't feel like a holiday to me. I'm going to the Lake District in August though, - that's pure wild landscapes and countryside. I'm left here guarding the fort (mostly against my own sense of paranoia) with the dog and the cat for company...
