i'm sure tolkien is not the only author you like. what other books are you in to?

the icewind dale trilogy - ra salvatore
the chronicles of narnia - cs lewis
the jedi academy trilogy - kevin j. anderson
mere christianity - cs lewis
the screwtape letters - cs lewis
the hunter's blades trilogy - ra salvatore
the rover - mel odom
the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - douglas adams

basically a lot of things that begin with 'the'. i also really like reading comic books, suchas:

the punisher
spider-man (lately i've been reading a lot of ultimate spider-man)
x-men (especially bishop)

His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
any anthology of Greek or European Myths

I'm also in the midst of discovering whether or not I am a fan of Dan Brown and his works (Angels and Demons, and The Da Vinci Code)

Yes, I am well aware that it's purpose can be interpretted as such. I am not going to ask you the point of your comment, because I have absolutely no desire for this to turn into a religious debate. Being a person that does not belong the the Christian faith, I have no problem with reading a book that takes a different look at religion because I can approach it as a work of literary fiction instead of taking offence and just enjoy the quality of literature.

it's still listed in the fiction section though.

i started reading dune recently, but stopped. i had a hard time getting into it for some reason. i guess maybe someday i'll go all the way through, but it was just sort of boring. most people consider it the greatest sci-fi book of all time.

I appologize if I affended anyone, I ment no harm by my comment andi know that The Da Vinci Code is a very good quality piece of literature, it has to be read with a certain discernment though and I am glad to know that it is still in the fiction section, i have heard of it moving on, like i said i appologize

no worries. it is true that they don't follow the actual things written in the gospels of mary, so if it was meant to be truth it would be blantently wrong truth.

The Dune Series
The Foundation Series

Those two are what I've really been into lately.

IMHO, Dune rose and peaked in the first book. By the third, my brain felt like Arrakis on a hot day. Dull.

Currently reading the Scandinavian Misantrophy series, by Abo Rasul. (The Cocka Hola Company and Macht & Rebel)

My favourite fantasy series, though, has recently become the Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin. Brutally delightful.
