So, what do you like about MET? What is it about this place that is special to you? Why do you come?

There are a multitude of reasons, of course, but I, for one, admire the fact that we can tear issues apart in the DS while being civil and without beating up on each other. And when we do critisize other people, there is no animosity created.

I love this place. I have been here for 3 years now (I think). Even when the crash happened I tried to stick around, but couldn't. Didn't like the new home. I never did delete my account though. I just quit coming in or until one day I thought I would check things out and to my surprise the old home was running again. It was one of the best days of my life.

However we lost alot of old friends after the crash and the changes.

My favorite part is the PP and the WWW. Also being here with all of my old friends and new ones too. We all are like one big happy family.

i like the people.

plain and simple.  Its not one of those over crowded HUGE forums, where you start a forum and 5 min later there are a million responses, and it just has a nice atmosphere.  So that's why i like it.  Smiley

I like the fellowship, no pun intended. This was (and hopefull, still will be) a great, massive community. Now that the old members are trickling back, I'd say it's going to be a fine place.

Yes, I forgot to mention how much I appreciate the closeness of the community. It is neither too large nor too small, and everyone knows and respects each other. It's a nice thing.

The variety of topics and members on this site.  This site is diverse, because it goes beyond being a simple LOTR's website.  Being able to post and reply to posts, in my opinion is better than simply going to some "chat site."  With this format one is forced to think, at least for a few seconds, before they respond.

Beren is right. This is the best place to come and hang out. To bad the old site had to fail. But I am glad that this new one is building, slowly, but building.

I like it here cause it is as though we are all one big happy family and I love the WWW. (In fact I think it's time the WWW should return  Wink).

I think it is also fun and pretty laid back - casual.

Well i love Tolkien's work but the good in this site is that we don't stick only in this we re just a group of people that we do like lotr but we talk about thin matters express our opinions freely and i like that i must say.

And after camping out on some other forums all I can say is that I am amazed at how clean the language on MET is, and how civil and clear-headed we usually are. Thank you, everyone!

I'm pretty much in agreement with what everyone is saying. I like the diversity. Some people here are meeting people they would probably never associate with in RL, and it's awesome that everyone can come together and be a nice little community.
I'm also with Missy on the fact that the forum doesn't get so flooded, you can't keep up with it. Even when things were at their most intense and had the most traffic, it was still easy to keep up with everything. I've seen some forums where you can't even find your most recent post after about 15 min.   Tongue     And of course there's also the obvious reason of having the shared love for LOTR!!
Even though I don't have nearly the amount of time I used to come around here, I'll never leave.   Cheesy        *hugs*
