The name pretty much says it all. Just tell us what you've seen recently and feel free to comment on the movie too.

Last movie I saw was Push.
It was actually a really good movie. A much better attempt at making a non-traditional superhero movie than Jumper and Hancock were. It wasn't the lease bit cheesey, and was pretty gripping and exciting. I'd definately recommend.

What have you guys watched recently?

V for Vendetta.

Utterly, utterly amazing. I don't go to the cinema much, so when I saw this it was the first airing on television. I'd consider it in the same vein as Sin City- not just because both are based on graphic novels, but mainly because it is a mature storyline which has violence when necessary, and (I'm going to sound so old now) no 'scenes of a sexual nature.' Perhaps its the feminist in me, but I think films don't have to be showing -that- sort of thing, when you can skip past it and actually get on with the plot. Also, not a gore-fest. Also also, Hugo Weaving ftw.

Eagle Eye, with Shea LaBeouf.  Overall I'd give it a three out of five.  Worth the dvd rental, and good for entertainment value, and the plot was interesting enough, but simple at the same time.  A good movie for a large group.

Stargate.  Yes, the original with Kurt Russell and James Spader.  I always loved this film, and since I enjoy watching the tv series, I had to see it again (it had been awhile since I saw it last and my wife had never seen it).  Check it out if you haven't seen it.   Smiley

He's Just not that Into You
Pink Panther 2
Taken

Taken was actually really good. Liam Neeson kicks butt.

Closet Land, 1991 movie with Alan Rickman and Madeline Stowe. It's simple in design but unnerving and thought-provoking at the same time. I'd recommend it.

Body of Lies, with Crowe and DiCaprio.  Good film, but kind of left me wanting more.

Watched a documentary about the Illuminati.  I think it was called - Angels and Demoms - The Illuminati, or something to that effect.  I rented the dvd last Friday.  Not bad.  The doc. was more informative, and less fictional and informative than Dan Brown's novel.

Nobel Son. I... don't know. It's slightly twisted.

Interesting.  Refresh my mind, who's in that again?

Quantum of Solace.  Not bad, decent entertainment value, though I think I liked Casino Royale the better, of the two.  This seemed to be lacking in some areas.  I wanted more in the way of action, and as in other Bond films, I expected it to end with a bang, but it did not.  Still not bad, and worth the dvd rental.   Smiley

Mirrormask. It was insane and slightly psychotic, but the sheer amount of imagination and CG work involved is undoubtedly impressive. There's an eerie, surreal cast to the whole thing. I liked it.

The Day the Earth Stood Still, with Keanu Reeves.  Great film.  Kept me wanting more though.  They could have developed it more, or maybe there are some plans for a sequel.  Recommended.   Wink

Seven Pounds, with Will Smith and Rosario Dawson.  Good drama.  Good story, well written and well acted.

Hot Rod.

Starring 2 of the 3 guys from Lonely Island and directed by the 3rd. Very funny, and completely random film.
