Just watched Water. Hindi w/ subtitles. Not bad.

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo- watched with English subtitles. So good.
Must be great.  It got good reviews.  I am reading the book right now and it is very interesting and engaging.  Have you read the book?

I only searched for the book after I watched the film, and the story is pretty good. I think it's a translation, though, and it does read like one, a bit awkwardly. I'm onto its sequel right now, book-wise.

It could be a translation.  But the Swedes are known for being quite competent in English as many of them learn it in school and can speak it as a 2nd language.  So it might just be that it sounds like a translation.

How is the sequel?  Worth reading?

I watched Signs, with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix (for about the fourth time).

Watched Avatar, and The Other Boleyn Girl.

Beren, you have a point about the English. That's pretty logical. As to the sequel: it's not bad, but it didn't have the hold of the first one, for me. But then again, I haven't finished it yet.

Watched Jerry Maguire.  Haven't seen it in years and it was on t.v.

Andunie: thanks for the opinions.  I will see how this book goes, but originally I was planning on reading all three in the trilogy.

Watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince a couple times.

Beren, I take that back. I've just finished it; it moves rather very slowly but picks up speed towards the end. I'd also intended to read all three, and I think I'll still be doing that.

Good plan, I will likely do that too.  Did you know that there is going to be a movie out very soon about the second book?  I just saw the advertisement on t.v. yesterday - that was quite quick!   Smiley

I watched Star Wars Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith today on t.v.

Also saw Up recently, and liked it.

Yes! And I'm rather excited about that. Not sure when it's releasing in the States though.

I believe the release date in the US (and I think Canada) is today, July 9.

Making my way through those Planet Earth documentaries by BBC.

I thought I'd be pretty ambivalent about it, but it was better than I expected- I really liked it.

I agree.  I was hoping for it to mirror the book, where Alice was a young girl, not older (like in the movie).  But it turned out well.  Tim Burton does have some unique skills that seem unparalleled in the world of film.

I watched No Country For Old Men on t.v. this morning (for the second time).  Great film.  I really liked the book as well.

I watchedLemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events a couple of days ago. My friend Sandy borrowed it from me so I watched it when she gave it back. I read the books and this movie only covers the first three books.
