Well I will have alot to be thankful for. Like my health, family, life, and God. But in other sense I am not thankful for losing my job this week. Got laid off yesterday because they shut the doors to my plant I was working at. Now there are 150 or so people without jobs and so close to the holidays too.

But anyhow you know what they say," when God shuts a door he always opens a window". Maybe this will be his way of giving my family and I something better. Like I can stay at home now and take care of my family and home, work on my book and get it started to be published, and who knows something good, better, or great will come out of all this.

Aw! Scroll I am so sorry to hear you lost your job! Things have been tough around my area lately too. I'll be praying for everything to work out for you all. Are you still working on your book? That's awesome! When it gets published I am buying it and running around like a mad woman screaming "I KNOW HER! I KNOW HER!"  ;D

AW! thank you so much Lordy my old friend. I will and have always kept you in my thoughts and prayers too. With me being out of work now this will give me more time to work on my book and finish it. When I do get it done and maybe published I will surely come here on this forum and post it in every topic for all to see.

It's outrageous that they can lay someone off like that without a word of notice- but at least you can now spend more time with your family and on your book. It's not everyone who gets that opportunity to spend more time with those people close to them, so I hope life treats you well. I know that if I could have my parents around longer in the day, that would make me happier for a long time. What is your book about, by the way? I hadn't heard you were writing one until now.

There is a Thanksgiving topic already. But I think no one never posted because of being to busy cooking, visiting, and eating.

Well how did it go for everyone yesterday? What did you all eat?

My family and I had an early Thanksgiving dinner Wednsday. We had turkey, mashed potatos, peas, stuffing, corn, rolls, apple pies, gravy, and pumpkin pie.

Yesterday we had another Thanksgiving dinner at our house with ham, potato salad, rolls, deviled eggs, candied carrots, corn, pumpkin pie, Apple pie, Pumpkin squares, grahm cracker squares, and baked beans.

This morning we had brekfast with bacon, eggs, fried potatos, toast, and hot chocolate.

At lunch we are going to our friend's house for a Thanksgiving dinner there.

Tonight my huband is taking me to the movies so we will probably have popcorn and things there and eat out for dinner. We are going out because for the last 6 years I have had to work on Thanksgiving day and not knowing when I would get off my husband never knew when to get me from work. so him and out girls would go and do something together. Like hiking through the mountains and things. SO yesterday they went to a place called Pilot Mountain Park about an hour away. So since I no longer have a job now I figure it wasn't right for me to introtrude on their tradition and I will get to go at Easter where they went like always before. So I stayed home and decorated for Christmas, cooked and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since I never got to before when I was working. It was a nice day. So that is why we are going to the movies tonight so I can have a night out.

Now that's alot of eating and weight gain too.

Really need to go on a diet now after all this.
