Red Book?

I was reading the appendix in ROTK, and it talked about the red book in many different sections. What is the red book, who wrote it, and when did they write it?

If im not mistaken the Red Book, that is the Red Book of Westmarch, is the book
containing the story of the travels of Bilbo and then the Lord of the Rings written by Fordo and then the things that Sam wrote after Frodo gave to himbefore Frodo sailed to the Grey Havens

I'd read once a book called red book about pharmacy but I dont think thats the book you are talking about.

I had read one red book ,about the LOFTR, i guess you might be talking about that

I believe Gil-Galad is correct. The Red Book was written by Bilbo about his travels to and from the Lonely Mountain (There and Back Again, a Hobbit's Tale). Afterwards, Frodo wrote about what occured in LotR. He then passed it on to Sam before he left for the Havens.
