I think it would be great to have Hillary as a president...just NOT right now. If you think about it...most countries dont really believe in letting women do very many things...and right now what the United States really needs the MOST is to gain respect from other countries...

I think it would be harder to do that with a woman president...I think its a great idea to have her, simply because women are fairly more organized and tend to run things a little bit better than men [ONLY sometimes..] but I think we should wait until we gain that needed respect from other countries to elect Hillary.

I think it would be wonderful for Obama to win the election. I'm thinkin he would do a great job. Sure, he could probably use a little more experience...but who doesnt need some?

We need someone who is really ready to take on this country and also know what to do with the war in Iraq...it's going to be difficult to find someone who can do those things...simply because Bush has been in charge of everything so far...and Im sure its going to be difficult for whoever wins to just simply take over everything unprepared.

Im not sure who I want to win the election...but I really hope that whoever does win is prepared to take responsibility for their actions.

I think our country should be more open to types of candidates we have never had before. We don't know that women or non-Caucasians are more or less capable. We need to go beyond the traditional view. This is probably why there is so much support for (Hilary) Clinton and Obama. Now, I'm not saying that everyone should only support them and not consider anyone else, but I think it would be nice if one of them won the election.

Experience. Trinity is right, everyone could use some experience. If you had no experience, and were not allowed to gain experience because you had none, then everyone would be stuck with no experience. I say, go ahead, unexperienced individuals, because they haven't been given a chance to show how good or bad they are. Arguably, the U.S. is supposedly in a precarious situation with all these world issues and needs someone that the country can trust to do the right thing. I say, yes, we need someone who knows what he or she is doing, but it doesn't matter who it is as long as this person can make good decisions.

I couldn't care less about which party dominates Congress and which party the President belongs to. There isn't much of a point in political parties, really. Even individuals within the same party have different views, qualities, and skills. Some people, belonging to different parties, have the same perspective, and still can't agree because of some blurred party line that is supposedly still there. I couldn't distinguish the difference.

Yeah, but we also shouldn't vote for them just because they are black/female. There was an interesting episode of Will and Grace where Will was supporting the first gay candidate in some political office, and Grace was supporting the first woman candidate in said office. Then they invited both over to their apartment for political stuff, and it turned out the woman was a white power activist and the gay guy was a sociopath or something. Good stuff, and a good lesson to be learned.

Yes, I know that, I thought about it. Which is why I also added:

Watch Mitt Romney come breaking out.  He just got 20 million in his campaign war chest.  That's second to Hilary.  Nobody knows about the guy, but he's definately a stealth candidate.

God help us if we get a Mormon president.

I mean I'm all for religious equality and yadda yadda, but... please, not the Mormons...

If the US gets a Mormon President then the captial will have to be moved to Salt Lake City, and America will all be wearing holy underwear.   Wink

Why should religion and familial relation determine the candidates' worth? The people we want in office are the people who are both capable and understanding.

Didn't prevent Bush junior from running, shouldn't prevent Mrs. Clinton from running. (Of course, there's a point in there about the sequels sucking, but yeah) Considering the Kennedy/Bush/Clinton love affair of American politics, well you may just have a royal family on your hands  Wink

Me, I'm with Giuilani. As long as the hard-core republicans don't look too closely at his (liberal) social policies, he's got a shot. McCain was promising 18 months ago, but he's shot his own credit all to hell. Boo. Hiss.

That's the realistic approach, though. My heart's all with Mike Gravel; if he can punch through the GMW Proper,  well, that's a huge step for the US.

I like Giuilani, not to conservative, not to liberal, but I also think Obama could do a lot to advance this country.

Hillary only stayed with Bill because she knew that it would help her become president.  Therefore, no one should vote for her.  She should have left him.  Then maybe she would have got my vote.

PLUS: Obama and Clinton SUPPORT AMNESTY!  DON'T VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS AMNESTY.

AMNESTY = BAD!!!!!!!!!

AHHHH!!!!!!! NO AMNESTY!!!!!!!

So, for the most part, I support Bill Richardson (until further notice).
