Okay... in about a month from now... the city of McGregor, TX (where I live) is gonna have a town meeting about what to do about all the child predators we have living there... out of the whole population about 15% of it is them... so I was wondering if ya'll had any ideals about what to do about them that i could give to my parents, since I'm still too young to vote or anything yet... but they could do something about it.

Ban ignorance, not books.

I know where I live, there's a website you can go to that shows where all the sex offenders live.  There might also be some way to ban them from pools or places where young children gather in large groups.

I know they're not allowed to be certain distances from schools. However, the distance seems pretty short to me. I think it's only measured in feet. I think it should be miles. There's a sex offender quite close to my son's school.

Enforcing the current rules should be sufficient. There is already a potent set of deterrents and laws in place regarding child molesters, particularly the kind who may repeat their actions.

If child molestation among the existing sexual offender populace is bad, though, some common sense rules should be put into place. Parental supervision during the trek from and to schools and along the school routes. Let the children know that it is a danger, going with people they don't know and that if they hear, see or are told anything, they should tell their parents.

Outside that, try to avoid uneccesary hostility towards the former child predators. Most of them have served their punishment and would like to get back into society and as long as they don't pose a further threat towards the children, why shouldn't they be? Alienating them and making the feel like outsiders, not integrating them, would pretty much do the opposite of what you really want, which is the safety of children.

Of course, this is just my opinion; you may arrive to a mob with pitchforks and torches and mobs only ever do what they want to. It's useless to try to stop them.

If 15% of a town's population are classified as "child predators", I'd move out of that town ASAP. There's obviously a serious social problem here. I have absolutely no respect, nor pity for child predators.

The people of Mcgregor need to take a long,  hard look at themselves and their surroundings to get to the root of the core problem.
