Has anyone seen this?  If so, what are your thoughts?  I own it.  It was made by Warner Bros., and produced in 1977.   I bought the dvd a couple months ago.  I think that it is a fun movie, taking into consideration the year it was made.  Definitely good for kids.

I own it as well.
I really liked it.  Haven't watched it in years though - I think I'll dig it out for the kids.

Lairėnuriel: have you watched the LOTR's cartoons as well?  I saw part one (not part two though).  They were made by Warner Bros. as well.

The only LOTRs animated films I've seen are The Hobbit and The Return of the King. The Hobbit was alot of fun, with a good ol' fashioned 70's feel to it (Retro, baby!). But the songs were very dragged out and often bland. ROTK, however i thought was alot better. From the crisp animation (for it's time obviously), to the "Where there's a whip there's a way" song sung by the orcs, it was a very fun film!

Yes I have - although I had forgotten about them until this thread.  I don't own them - now you've given me something to put on my Christmas list besides boots and snow! laugh

Not yet - that will be a quest for the New Year, after Chritmas bills settle down!

Thanks, that's understandable.  Let me know what you think when you watch it.  On another note: I believe that Peter Jackson got some inspiration from the LOTR's cartoons for the making of the films.  There are some interesting scenes in the cartoon that kind of parallel the films.  Just an observation.   Wink
