As some might know, I'm not a bad artist, so I thought I'd do an illustration of Vearg from The Golden Hall of Meduseld thread, as she is a character I write for, and I wanted to show people one interpretation of her appearence.

As you can see, she and Tsyeni (the wolf, or worg) are severely scarred in places, which relates to the days she worked as a tamer of beasts, mainly the said worgs, in Minas Morgul. This also accounts for her somewhat shoddy appearence, and clothing which is both aged and worn. I wanted to show the true extent of her time spent in Morgul, but also what came after that, when she escaped after being appalled by the cruelty, but was then found and tortured six months prior to the current events where she travels to Mirkwood with Beren and the rest of the company from Edoras. The scar upon her arm however (that being the brand which was burnt into her skin) is, as the story describes it, hidden, though there is also a currently crude drawing of it that I have done, which I will upload if people are interested.

Wolfchild: you are a good artist.  That is amazing that you even have a drawing/visual image of Vearg and Tsyeni.  That is a nice piece!  I am kind of a "retired" artist.  I always excelled in art, especially back in high school.  But my career aspirations led me in another direction.  Maybe I will draft something up depicting either Stargeld (my blue wizard) or Dwalinstone (my dwarf).  We'll see what happens.   Wink

It's amazing how well-developed your character is, Wolfchild. The illustration is also brilliant; you have an interesting style.

That is awesome, well done!!! I so want to draw Frodo, but I'm afraid I won't do him justice. I'll try tho, I did a drawing of MJ and everyone that saw it said it was good, but I need a GOOD pic of Frodo.

Thank you everyone! If I can, I'll put some more up, possible from the "Golden Hall" story, or alternatively from the other lengthy tales I write, so stay tuned!

Your turn Beren:

The image, as you can probably tell, is very heavily based on photographs of Sea Bean, who as we all know is Boromir in the films. I also tried to combine a slight Kurt Cobain quality, which seems to merge very well overall. I think that gives it a good edge to it as well, and probably later this week I will use the same drawing methods to produce a realistic impression of Vargaz.

Wow, Wolfchild, that is an amazing piece!   Good job.  I love it, because I kind of liken the appearance of Beren in the story to that of a Sean Bean likeness.

Hello again chaps.

This isn't the lifelike portrait I promised some weeks ago (my apologies, I've been a rather busy student) however it is a scan of a doodle I am rather proud of:

This is one of the first images of Vargaz without the left arm, and it's a theme I've kept with for the sake of consistency.

Now, the second is a double page of a small sketchbook I use for freehand drawings, however these snippets were originally from the doodles I did on the back of a newspaper supplement. On the left is a slightly old impression of Vargaz as an adult, and on the right, Vargaz as a child. Most interestingly, if you look in the bottom left hand corner, you will see the first ever drawing of Meklian, albeit basic, which captures who I imagine in my mind when I write for him (though maybe with more hair!)

The last is a drawing I did a while back, when I was quite heartbroken about killing Vargaz, and I just wanted to draw a very basic impression of what she would look like at that time. My own criticism, as with the latter, is that Vargaz looks far too short and childlike, but other than that, mission complete.

(Edit: I apologise the last two aren't rotating properly, Photoshop will be disciplined)

Hello once again. No actual drawings this time, but rather an emotive photograph that I thought would be appropriate given the current plotline. Yes, this goes against the illustration guideline, but the relevance is my reasoning.

This, is Vargaz imprisoned. it is a photograph originally taken by my sister, and edited by my good self, of moderate skillage. The pose was created for an alternate project of mine, but once I looked over a couple, I thought they would be good for this idea.

And the model, ladies and gents? Why, that is none but your own Wolfchild.
