What is this job that you dislike so much?

Thanks for asking, Lauren.  Well it's a long story, but I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I work a graveyard shift (hard on the body and one's life in general), and have been doing so for about two years now.  Also, this job is more of a means to an end, because I still plan to pursue my career goals.  So there are many days where it gets pretty frustrating to still be there.  The upside is that it pays pretty good, and I have very high seniority, but with the job market here, finding another job won't be an issue.  The longer you've been in the same job, the harder it is to quit.  But I have to get out soon.   Wink

I worked graveyard shifts when I was in school.  I agree that it is really hard on your body!!!  I was single though, so it wasn't as bad on my lifestyle.  I also understand the pay keeping you - when I was working as an engineer the pay was quite good.  Thankfully, my husband doesn't mind that I chose to stay home with the kids.  I wanted to do something more creative as well.

With your doctorate - Do you want to teach?

Thanks for empathizing.  Yes I would like to teach with the doctorate.  That is my ultimate goal - to obtain a doctorate in theology and teach at a Bible school, seminary or university.

My goals for the future?  I don't ask  a whole lot, I'm not very ambitious (except with my grades...my short term goal is to graduate with a 4.0...).  I am a writer, but I'm not out to take the world by storm.  All I'm really looking for is a good husband  who loves me and a family too.  On the side, it'd be pretty awesome if some of my writing happened to be published, somewhere somhow...but those are just dreams.  Goals are something you strive to achieve...dreams entertain you when you know cannot reach them...

*cough*  Anyway.  I want to do whatever God wants me to do...which...I'm not currently sure of.  Undecided

But I know I must go on
Although I hurt, I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
Children, don't stop dancing--believe blind.
Children, don't stop dancing--believe you can fly away...away.
So let's go there--let's make our escape
Let's ask can we stay?
