What songs have deep meanings to you? Heard it on your first date? At your wedding? On your graduation? Or something you listen to every morning, or a song that pumps you up before a sports game? Or just a song you love to hear. Maybe a song that reminds you of a certain someone? Whatever it is tell us about it and what it means to you.

(I'll post in a little while)

I owe loads to Muse for kick starting my love of contemporary bands, and one of their songs "Our Time Is Running Out" just has immense power in the lyrics, and is a song I absolutely could never tire of. Others by the same band include "Plug In Baby" "Muscle Museum" and "Stockholm Syndrome", to name but a few. Live, it is possibly one of the most amazing gigs you will ever see (I'm sure Youtube can back me up on that) and particular honors go to Matt Bellamy for having the ability to make an electric guitar sound like a fourth member of the group.

I guess when I started falling in love with new music, I got in to bands like Keane, with music like "Everybody's Changing" totally making me reconsider where I stood on the concept. Beautiful songs, very mellowing and relaxed.

Discovering Nirvana was a turning point through college- I'd heard of them before that but high school doesn't give you much of a social chance to look at these sorts of things. Everybody knows "Smells Like Teen Spirit" but that's what got me hooked.

And finally, like certain members of this board (look up) Radiohead takes pride of place in band favorites. It's particularly good when you discover yet another song that you didn't know about, but one in particular "Just" is another song that I don't tire of in any way. Thom's lyrics don't just mean something to the band, they are a statement of politics and society. Gotta love them for that.

Well, I'd have to say it was "Paranoid" - Supposedly by Black Sabbath, but only if Ozzy Osborne is singing it!
It was what gave my husband the courage to ask me out on our first date - he saw me walking back to work with the single (this was in the olden days when music came on round black vinyl things with grooves in). He asked what it was, & if I was into Rock Music. I said "Don't know anything about Rock, I just like the song"
Ozzy Osborne had just left Black Sabbath (and still had blonde hair!) and he was playing in our town so he asked me to the gig for a dare - the rest is history!  Cheesy
Not many people can say their first date was an Ozzy Osborne concert but it was a great night and my ears ached for days....... Evil

I also especially like the album "The Wall" by Pink Floyd (which I saw in London in the eighties and it blew me away!). You can't really pick one track because you have to listen to it all from start to finish to appreciate it.

DANIEL BEDINGFIELD's, "If you're not the one."  It's our song - my wife and I.

Good Song by BLUR reminds me of my girl, and I listen to it whenever I'm stuck away from her. Plus it's a really good song.
